Norfolk is the 5th largest county in England by area and the 24th largest by population. Bordering Suffolk to the south and Cambridgeshire to the west, Norfolk is a largely rural county it has one of the lowest populations densities in England, somewhere in the region of a thirtieth of the density of London, and approximately 40% of the population live in one of the three main urban areas, Norwich, King's Lynn and Great Yarmouth.
Unsurprisingly the economy is dominated by agriculture and tourism, with the main agricultural crops including wheat, barley and sugar beet. The county is very popular with tourists, in particular the Broads for boating holidays, and the coast for its' very long and sandy beaches. As of the 2001 census there were 116,632 people aged over 70 living in Norfolk, approximately 14.6% of the total population.
